The Spine and Spinal Deformities Surgery Department treats all spinal deformities both severe and more-typical cases, in younger as well as older patients. For small deformities associated with mild back pain, physical therapy or injections are generally the initial treatment recommendations. As for severe injuries, they may require minimally invasive surgeries or one of the complex surgeries, as well as intraoperative monitoring and navigation to minimize the risk of complications.

The technology that the Hospital provide helps the doctors to optimize treatment outcomes and minimizes the need to return to the operating room for corrective surgery. In addition to that, the surgical ward team has extensive experience in the field of spinal deformity surgery. They have the training and insight to utilize technology appropriately, in ways tailored to the needs of the patient.

In the meantime, the surgical team works closely with their colleagues in related specialties such as a physiotherapist, neurosurgeon and endocrinologists to provide comprehensive care for the full range of spinal deformities.

Dr. Nazeeh Abu Dayyeh is a Consultant Orthopedic and Spine Surgeon, Specializing in Spine Surgery with more than 16 years of experience. Currently he is in charge of the Spine Unit within the Orthopedic and Joint Surgery department at Istishari Arab Hospital.

Dr. Abu Dayyeh treats spinal curvatures in adults and children, in addition to congenital malformations, spine slippage, erosion of the vertebrae in the lumbar and cervical region, vertebral fractures, spinal cord injuries, treatment of osteoporosis, in addition to tumors and non-surgical treatments for chronic pain such as injections under radiation.

Dr. Abu Dayyeh graduated from Heinrich Heine University in Dusseldorf - Germany from the Faculty of Medicine.

After his surgical training in the cities of Wittlich and Waldbröl, Dr. Abu Dayyeh completed his specialist training in Orthopedics, Joints and Spine Surgery at the St. Joseph Stift Centers in Sendenhorst and St. Mary's Hospital in Mülheim an der Ruhr in Germany.

Since 2013, Dr. Nazeeh Abu Dayyeh has been working as a Consultant for Spine Surgery at the German Center for Scoliosis and Spine Surgery in Bad Wildungen - Germany.
