Dr. Salem Abu Khaizaran

Dr. Salem Abu Khaizaran

Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Arab Hospitals Group

Dr. Salem Abu Khaizaran, a Palestinian medical doctor, was born in the winter of 1957 in the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank, and he resides today in the city of Nablus. In 1976, he completed his high school studies, and joined the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University and completed his degree in Medicine and General Surgery in 1981. Abu Khaizaran continued his education in the United Kingdom with a specialty and fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology, in addition to subspecialties in Laparoscopic Surgery and IVF.
Dr. Abu Khaizaran returned to Palestine in hope of making a difference in his field, which was evident by opening the first IVF center in Palestine in 1995 named Razan Specialized Center for Infertility and IVF Treatment.
A notable accomplishment by Dr. Salem Abu Khaizaran in Palestinian medicine was his establishment of the Arab Hospitals Group, which he currently holds the position of Chairperson of the Board of Directors. Under its umbrella are the Arab Specialized Hospital in Nablus, the Arab Istishari Hospital in the Rayhan suburb north of Ramallah, and Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin.
Dr. Salem Abu Khaizaran holds several other significant positions. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Al-Quds Open University, Head of the Regional Office of the Arab Union for Humanitarian Action and Sustainable Development / Palestine, member of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence, member of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission, member of The Board of Directors of the Palestine Islamic Bank, member of the Board of Directors of Birzeit Pharmaceutical Company, and he is the President of the Palestinian Society for Fertility and Genetics. As well between the years of 2014-2020, Dr. Salem Abu Khaizaran held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab American University, one of the most important Palestinian universities. He was also the President of the Palestinian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2010 to 2012.
In 2014, His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas awarded Dr. Salem Abu Khaizaran the medal of Merit and Excellence, in recognition of his humanitarian work and his significant role in supporting and developing health services in Palestine.

Dr. Atef Rimawi

Dr. Atef Al Rimawi, CEO of Istishari Arab Hospital, holds a PhD degree in Healthcare Management /Quality in Healthcare from Jordan University, Amman and has more than 25 years of experience as an executive in hospital administration, risk management and healthcare quality.  Dr. Al Rimawi was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the hospital in March 2019, has extensive experience in managing hospital services and leading quality healthcare programs.  He had previously held senior positions as Director of Human Resources, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Hospital Quality.  He co-founded and served as a specialist in the Joint Commission Accreditation (JCIA) Program at National Level and has successfully led the JCIA four times at two of the biggest Palestinian hospitals.  He is also a part-time Assistant Professor at Al Quds University teaching graduate students from all healthcare professions faculties.

Dr. Al Rimawi provides general oversight of all hospital activities in which he runs the day-to-day operations. He leads, administers, and manages all hospital services. He implements the hospital mission, develops strategic goals and programs and demonstrates commitment to continue the expansion and quality of services. His leadership is all geared towards the growth of the hospital, which in turn conveys a positive image of Istishari Arab Hospital.

Dr. Al Rimawi works on the development of hospital quality of work and information systems that provide connected patient-centric care and support providers, hospitals and other hospital services’ systems to achieve appropriate, efficient and effective outcomes.

Dr. Khalil Kareem

Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Pulmonologist

Dr. Khalil Karim is a Pulmonologist, Bronchoscopist, Sleep Medicine Specialist and Internist.

Works currently as Pulmonologist and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Istishari Arab Hospital, and Pulmonologist at Hadassah Medical Center Jerusalem.

Dr. Karim graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Tlemcen University in Algeria. He finished his specialization of Internal Medicine in Hebron Hospital, and completed his subspecialty of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem.

He earned the Palestinian board of internal medicine, Palestinian board of pulmonology and got the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine.

Dr. Said Sarahneh

Chief Medical Officer. Consultant and Clinical Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility

Dr. Said Sarahneh is a Consultant and Clinical Professor in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility, and holds a medical degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital - Jerusalem.
Currently, Dr. Sarahneh is the Medical Director at Istishari Arab Hospital, as well as President of the Palestinian Obstetrics and Gynecology Association, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Palestinian Board and Chairman of the Training Committee in the Arab Board.

Previously held several positions in the health sector such as General Director of Hebron Hospital and Beit Jala Hospital.

Dr. Sarahneh seeks to attract the most highly qualified medical personnel from inside and outside the country, in order to ensure that medical staff and clinical operations are distinguished by the highest standards of healthcare quality and patient safety, and to achieve the greatest clinical effectiveness in order to achieve the desired results for patients.

Mohammad Zahran

Mr. Mohammad Zahran currently holds the position as Chief  Nursing Officer at Istishari Arab Hospital. He holds a BA degree in Nursing and an MA degree in Policies and Health Management, Quality, and Patient Safety.

Previously, Mr. Zahran held several positions in the health sector such as: Head Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, Head of Cardiac Catheterization Unit at Arab Care Hospital - Ramallah, Head Nurse of Intensive Care Unit and Hospital Supervisor at Saint Joseph Hospital - Jerusalem.

Mr. Zahran seeks to provide highly efficient nursing care according to the highest standards of health care quality and patient safety by attracting highly qualified nurses and enhance the existing staff at the hospital in order to achieve the desired outcome for patients.

Eba’a Barghouthi

Chief of Quality Department

Eba’a Barghouthi specializes in the field of quality and international accreditation certificates for health institutions, monitoring and analyzing the performance of health institutions for more than 13 years of experience, currently he is the Chief of Quality Department at the Istishari Arab Hospital.

Prior to joining Istishari Arab Hospital in Ramallah, Mr. Barghouthi worked at the Augusta Victoria Hospital - Jerusalem, Prince Sultan Medical Military City Hospital - Riyadh, and at the Khalidi Hospital and Medical Center - Amman at the Quality Department.

Mr. Barghouthi graduated from the Faculty of Nursing from the University of Al Zaytoonah Jordan - Jordan, continued his study in Healthcare Quality Management from the German Jordan University - Jordan and completed his Master Degree in Policies and Health Management from Al-Quds University - Palestine.

Currently he is completing his studies to obtain a doctorate degree from the American University in partnership with Jacksonville University - Florida in USA.

Chief Human Resources Officer for Arab Medical Complex

Mrs. Sanaa Al-Shrafi serves as Chief Human Resources Officer for Arab Medical Complex with extensive knowledge of business development and Human Resources. She has more than 10 years of proven experience in team building, human resources, organization diversity, training, and consultancy. She holds a Master's degree in Business Administration, and currently a PhD candidate in Strategic Management.
Al-Shrafi engages a diverse of more than 1000 employees; she is responsible for developing and guiding the hospitals' talent management philosophy, leading the hospitals' general human resources strategy, organizational design, cultural development, employees’ relations, as well as articulating the organization`s strategy for recruiting, enhancing, fulfilling and retaining the best talent.

Ibrahim Mahareeq

Mr. Ibrahim Al-Mahareeq holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Mutah University - Jordan. Currently holds the position of Chief Information Officer at Istishari Arab Hospital. Previously held several positions in the health and government sector, where he held the position of Systems Officer at Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem, Application Developer and Databases Manager in the Palestinian Council for Development and Reconstruction – PECDAR and Database Manager at the Capital Market Authority in Ramallah.

Mr. Al-Mahareeq seeks to develop and manage the infrastructure of servers, data storage, networks, security, analyze and develop systems in accordance with quality policies, and raise the level of medical quality services at all stages, whether diagnostic or therapeutic or the mechanism of work inside the hospital and others.
