Intensive Care Unit

The Intensive Care Unit at Istishari Arab Hospital provides specialized care for cases of extremely serious illness, as well as people who have experienced major surgery or multiple trauma and need advanced monitoring and care around the clock.

Each patient in the Intensive Care Unit will be under the care of intensivist and a team of experienced professionals “Multidisciplinary Team”. The team works closely with doctors from many specialties, including physical and occupational physiotherapist, vascular surgeon, anesthesiologist, internal medicine and surgical specialist.

They work side by side with nurse practitioners and physician assistants who have experience in continuous care for critically ill patients.

The Intensive Care Unit consist of 10 beds, five of which are isolation beds very highly equipped, including the “ECMO” machine, CRRT, ICP Monitoring, Advanced Hemodynamic Monitoring and Advanced Ventilatory Support.

The Intensive Care Unit provides a full range of specialty-specific services, including crisis management and aftercare of high-risk surgical patients, and the unit treats many complicated conditions including:

  • Acute Respiratory Failure
  • Acute Renal Failure “CRRT Service”
  • Acute Hepatic Failure
  • Acute Pulmonary Embolism
  • Sepsis and Septic Shock and Multi-organ failure
  • Drug Overdose
  • Advanced neurosurgical cases “Trauma, post operation”
  • Stroke
  • Heart Failure
  • Cardiogenic Shock
  • ECMO, CRRT, ICP Monitoring, Advanced Hemodynamic Monitoring, Advanced Ventilatory Support

Dr. Emad Taeym

Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine - Anesthesia

Dr. Emad Taeym is a Medical Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine - Anesthesia with 11 years of experience. He is currently the Head of Intensive Care Department at Istishari Arab Hospital.

Prior to joining Istishari Arab Hospital in Ramallah, Dr. Taeym worked in several hospitals in Palestine - Nablus as well as Wolfson Hospital - Tel Aviv.

Dr. Taeym graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of DONETSK - Ukraine, in addition to his specialization in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation from Rafidia Governmental Hospital, and a subspecialty in Intensive Care Medicine from Tel Aviv University - Wolfson Hospital.
